Hello from Adelaide!
Wednesday, February 20, 2013 @ 7:46 pm
Landed at 6.15am ADL time this morning, really early and got around getting to know the city. I swear there is nothing left to eat by the time its 7pm. All the food outlets are extremely pricey and I just want to take out my rice cooker and start cooking now.

We visited Glenelg today, the australian beach and stuff. Cause daddy rented a car for us to get around in. I tell you, the australians are wearing bikinis and boardshorts while we were baoed like zhong in jeans and sweaters. Hilarious. When the sun was out, it's okay cause its hot. But the moment the wind starts to blow. Brrrrrrr I hate the cold. I feel so cold everywhere lah.

Just now when we called home, and spoke to mama aiya I started to tear again. Happening too often now yeah. I can't wait to move into the university and for my parents to fly back home so that I feel all alone in it, and bury myself in work instead of thinking just how far away from home I am. I can just hide in a little corner and cry about it all the time.

I miss singapore.
I miss my family.
Okay I'm not going to type anymore I miss you cause I can't hold back my tears. AGAIN.

TONIGHT
Tuesday, February 19, 2013 @ 1:47 pm
Hi.

Last post before I leave for Adelaide. My luggage is more or less packed already. Its so frigging heavy. I'm brining 3 luggages, of which 1 is under my parents' name. I can't bring my bolster, so please send me a bolster. I can't bring my bed, so please send me a bed. I can't bring my dog, so please send me princess. I'm leaving my lenovo, thinkpad behind because its old and the battery is spoilt. But its still working fine. It's been with me since the start of poly, and its so hardy, I love how hard i can type on its keys and it'll give me a really nice keyboard sound. I will miss the red dot that I can use as a mouse. I think I'm going to leave the mouse here.

Anyway, everyone is saying I'm bringing too many luggages. When the immigration officer opens up my back to check in Adelaide. Hohohoho they're gonna keep laughing at what I have placed in my luggage. I'm serious. But my mom said, if I can save money I will just bring everything I own. Lol. Because things there are just so expensive, so if I can save money by not buying some stuff. I guess I would. Anyway, if I were to travel around, it'll most likely be my own money there right.

I'm going to miss Singapore alot.
I was woken up by peiyun's mother cause she made a call to me to wish me all the best for my studies. Which was so sweet of her also, because she knows that I'm leaving and she called. Hahhaha then Hariz just called to wish us all the best and have a safe flight/journey to adelaide also...

Going to leave the house at 4.30pm later for early dinner at airport. I know its freaking early. Kiasu singaporeans as we are then.

Should be back in July. Stay tuned!

LAST WEEEEEKEND!
Monday, February 18, 2013 @ 1:37 am
Met up with some of the spardies on friday night for dinner. At the star vista! Hahhaha what's hilarious? They  went into art friend with me and asked me to choose a farewell card for them to write in, and then give it to me. Ended up spending 1 hr in art friend because ziyuan and jenn were like comparing papers and their colours and envelope colours as well, after deciding on the ready made cards. Then they decided to just get plan paper and write. Then decorate it with a whole pack of cute stickers! (ZIYUAN'S IDEA, we all laugh at him for having handwriting of a 6 year old.

If you don't know, Sparda people were my 1st family in SP. From the fo camp in the year 2009. It's so heartening to know that we've all been so close for 4 years, even though we're doing different diplomas and have graduated. We still continue to meet up. :'( Oh btw, if you were thinking of eating at Boston seafood shack, it isn't very fantastic and its really not worth it to pay for fried food ONLY. No veggies/sides, just pure fried food (since we ordered seafood in a basket) & additional calamaris.

Star Vista has a really nice place for mass movie screening, I think if only the screen was slightly bigger for my poor eyes to see from a distance, it would have been perrrrrfecccct.

Snippets of friday coming up!
Thanks anita, jenn & ziyuan for arranging this meetup before I leave. I will be back lah ( stop saying 3 YEARS!?! in caps)

Saturday was spent at Peach Garden in the morning with my family for a combined birthday lunch for gran, daddy and audrey. Pricey dim sum, so I just ate a little to line my stomach, after that met ziling and we watched wedding diary 2! I got a chance to use my passioncard (hehehe, ziling was like: I give you chance to  use your passioncard). So we got a special price of $9.50 each!

The movie was so-so, okay lor. It wasn't really funny and i didn't quite get the ending about the extra daughter and what not. The excitement comes after the movie. Theresa ended work at 6pm, and we WALKED. Yes we walked around the island. Walked to plaza from cineleisure (because initially theresa was supposed to end work at 5pm, but that martin was late lah!) So we ended up leaving ps around 6.10pm and walked to bugis+ (yes its possible to walk qiqing). For ziling to collect her cab fare from gelato. (I was an outcast again when there was a mini gelato reunion amongst the other girls). Then from bugis+, we walked towards farrer park, passing by say ma lou that temple, and then sim lim square there, passing by the verge, and we made a wrong direction towards little india instead of farrerpark, so we detoured and then walked again past mustafa and then finally at farrerpark, we found the correct exit towards rangoon road. Walked and walked to the Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh there, and HAD BAK KUT TEH, PIG INTESTINES, PIG TROTTERS AND TYE GUAN YIN TEA FOR DINNER. We are expert traditional chinese tea pourers now. Theresa is super happy that she managed to taste her first bowl of bak kut teh and that her blood isn't rusting after that. They kept refilling the soup, the hot peppery soup. IT WAS SO AWESOME.

Later after that, ziling turned down an offer to go clubbing and we walked from rangoon road to moulmein road and then reached balistier. Meaning we walked past the quality hotel and then along the roadside. Made a pitstop at the original herbal shop for a bowl of gui ling gao (which theresa couldn't eat, but ordered some beancurd gingko thingy anyway). Following that, we walked past balistier plaza and then made a turning at the home-team NS clubhouse and took the connecting whampo park connector BACK INTO TOA PAYOH. All along I thought that ziling was freaking kidding when she said we could walk back to tpy from where we were. But IT WAS SO POSSIBLE. #achievementunlocked!
Anyway, ziling stayed over till 8.15am, and after she left for work. I literally dragged myself back to MY OWN BED TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH IT. I MISS MY OWN BED SMELL ALREADY. JUST BY TYPING THIS.

Sunday!
Bai nian at aunty foong yeen's before qiqing came over to our place to bai nian to mom. Headed over to twins' place to bai nian and HUAT AH. Sheena became a crazy rich asssss woman cause she kept winning our money and poor shermaine and qiqing had no more money to play with. I was laughing too much towards the end of the weekend (last few hours literally) because i really didn't want to go home so early. Cause that would mean the next time I see all my friends again in person would be the very day that I'm flying out/leaving! :'( Anyway, qiqing was kind enough to stay on with me till 11pm-ish? Before deciding we would leave together. She lost all the money (she won from me) for her cab fare back to NUS and she didn't even want to send me to amk station. She literally stopped before I crossed the road and said " I'm going to stand here", so i #solo lah. Walked to the bus stop ALONE hopped onto a 132 to take me back to amk stn before boarding the last train towards marina bay home.

Well, say goodbye to going home this late at night while I'm away in Adelaide. Singapore is so safe, even at night. Its something we all take for granted. Being able to come home past 1am, walking along the roads, even when its so quiet, and having nothing to fear at all (maybe just alittle, but usually unfounded for).

I'm going to try and wake up early in abouttttttt 6 hours maybe? If I can wake up, I'm gonna date gran for breakfast. I know she's gonna miss me because these few days she keep asking me, you going out ah, you going out ah. So tomorrow, while the mother is working (cause apparently she has finished packing her luggage), I will spend some quality time with gran. PLUS I'VE ALREADY REQUESTED FOR HER TO COOK HER CHICKEN RICE FOR DINNER TONIGHT BECAUSE ITS A CRAVING THAT I'M HAVING DEEP DOWN INSIDE OF ME. I'm going to spam my favourite condiment tomorrow night. (last homecooked meal before I fly).

Anyway, IF YOU'RE READING THIS POST. MEANS YOU HAVE THE LINK TO MY BLOGPOST AND POSSIBLY A WAY INTO MY OWN HEART AND STOMACH. I WILL SEE YOU AT THE AIRPORT ON 19TH FEB 2013 ARH! *WINK WINK*

St Valentine's Day
Friday, February 15, 2013 @ 12:06 am
Before you get all angry on me my dearest spouse. I spent my Valentine's day with my beloved family. Its our last Lou Hei before I fly off for my studies. So please do not be angry at me for not telling you who my date for Vday was. I'm glad you spent it in the company of great friends like Marie, Sheena & Shermaine. I really wished I could be there, but I'm sorry I couldn't.

Spent my morning/afternoon with my mom packing my luggage. I just realise I have alot of things that I have yet to pack in, and I think I may just have to ship my entire closet over because its really too much. I can't decide which t shirts and shoes I wanna bring. Also, not sure if the style there is more lap chap then I can just wear tshirts or should I bring more going out shirts. I'm just pondering over that. I packed in almost ALL my clothes from my cupboard already (talk about being kiasu) when I actually know that I'm going to be buying clothing over there!

Headed down to cine to get my father his s2 transparent casing and phone protective screen. Suddenly like a small kid, and call me lobang queen. Knowing where to get all the cheap deals. I mean if you're a teenager, you'll more or less know where to get your stuff for a good price right? Then we walked over to ion where there's kikki.k because I wanna show mum that 29.90 2013 planner that I keep thinking about. But she says its too expensive, then we headed back to tpy to get my pipagao (I HAVE TO DECLARE) but I'm going to bring it in anyway and try my luck. Also bought my yoko yoko ( like an old woman) because if i have muscle aches, i don't wanna rub myself and get my hands all greasy and when i rub my eyes in the middle of the night (i usually do) it'll sting my eyes! So I have checked. I have a maximum allowance of 50kg, doesn't seem so much suddenly. Not like when you see how much I pack!

Dinner at mama's place, for lou hei and yeye opened this expensive cognac (martell) the cordon bleu one, omgosh i have never tasted such awesome martell before. It's really smooth and when you drink it, it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling down your throat and in your tummy! Mama brewed my favourite luo han guo (usually for me) because nobody else in the house ever drinks it. She told me that when she headed to the markets today, there was no pork to buy at all! (because the night before she asked me what i wanted to eat for dinner, and i said i wanted to eat the sweet sour pork that she cooks), then she went to the guy who sells pork to the hawkers and then asked for pork. Then he said not for sale, then she said, aiiiiyaaa my grandchild waiting to eat my sweet sour pork. Then this pork man was so kind, he just cut up some pork and sold it to her! :'( Extremely touched when I heard it.

My mama and yeye brought me up when i was still in nursery. I really can't bear to leave everyone behind when I leave for Adelaide on Tuesday. I hope they'll stay healthy and happy and live to a ripe old age!

On the other hand, Princess's mood hasn't been so good either. Lately she's just listless and quiet all the time. Daddy says perhaps she knows I'm leaving as well. Thats why she's sad. Then this morning, I felt someone come sleep next to me and caress my hair (it was gran). Siggggggh as I'm typing this post, I'm holding back water in my eyes.

Okay, I shall shut up now.

So that's how I spent my Valentine's day. In the presence of family. :'( Yeah, it was meant to be elusive and mysterious for fun. Hahhaha spouse. Don't blame me.  :)
Happy Valentine's.

Hi this marks the fact that I have 5 days left in Singapore.
Trying my best to pack everything into my luggages like seriously. Like vacuum packing everything and all that. This just means that its the 5th day of CNY but its 1/3 of CNY left also.

The past few days have been. OKAY. For the fact that CNY is all about catching up with relatives that you haven't seen in a long time and hearing them asking about where you're going to study and how tall you've grown (since the last time they saw you, which was technically a year ago). If you're lucky, they'll comment on how much weight you've lost, or put on. Then the day goes by where you just laugh everything off and say "no lah". To avoid awkwardness, you just eat and eat more. That's just eat. CNY is pretty much like that.

Spending time with family? Well, for us its just everyone being at home together (all at the same time) and then doing our own things. Which I totally don't understand how that means "spending time" together. But what am I to say, and to who do I say that to?

Anyway, qq moved into hall. So it means that if I wanna meet up with her it won't be possible because she's gonna just spend even more time in school and all that. So I'm just gonna heck it. Wahahhaha (sorry if you're reading this now), she moved to hall to spend more time and attempt to be less distracted at hall. Where her sole purpose is to study and mug and beat all the foreigners in her classes.

As the dragon year comes to an end...
Saturday, February 09, 2013 @ 1:31 am
I'm truly grateful for the events and the people that I have met in the past 1 year, the dragon year. I've been spending my last 4 evenings out for reunion dinner with varying groups of friends.
I guess its kinda true when they say the friends are family that you can choose. You can make your own decisions are who you wanna be friends and hang out with.

Firstly, on wednesday night the 6th Feb, met up with my lovelies from IJ. It was FINALLY a reunion before everyone else gets busy. It was a really fun night out. I had this really warm and fuzzy feeling inside of me when all of us actually took out our own umbrellas to walk in the rain. Usually the case is when it rains, at least 1 or 2 people wouldn't have their umbrellas and then had to share. So that evening we went out to the open area and then we asked who wants to share umbrella, there was totally awkward silence. Then suddenly the scene before you was everyone was searching/digging their bags for their own umbrellas. I found that sight incredibly cute and worth remembering. I was really really feeling awwwwww inside of me. So imagine, 6 of us walking down orchard road with our own versions of cute/ugly umbrellas. Definitely worth a photo! Had ribs/steak at Tony Roma's Orchard Shopping Arcade, and the boy talk and the girl talk and the gossiping following by desserts (girls always have to have their desserts). Its sorta mandatory. We just chilled at the 24 Hr TCC, and I swear it was the latest that the IJ clique as ever left for home. (Kinda proud of them even though it was like about 10.30pmish-11pm) cause usually they always go home SO EARLY...
#highlights: marie was super late, we got to eat tony roma's for reunion dinner, everyone had umbrellas, girls talk = boys talk.

(7th Feb) Thursday, Ayam Penyat with Jess's clique at lucky plaza. Catching up with dnhw days and classmates and desserts too. At Hans, and noticing that it was still kinda early. Our clique (excluding the hardworking SIT peiyun) stayed out for post supper (post dessert) at honeymoon dessert. Walking from far east plaza to lucky plaza, then down to somerset and then at 313. Walked right into honeymoon desserts at 1010pm and ordered ourselves some dessert. The amount of crap that cedric can produce is like damn alot. It was like he was high on caffeine/alcohol. It was a whole load of expletives and it was actually funny just listening to him talk about how he got into fights and all the cursing would start. I think we made the most noise by laughing out really damn loud at the dessert place. #trulyvulgarnight
#hightlights: theresa tried to make herself fit into walkinggang again by coming up with #hashtagnamegroups to include herself in, cedric was super duper crazified vulgar, we ate and ate and ate dessert twice, thursdaynight, wenthomelater.

Friday (8th Feb), really thankful and grateful for sarah ho. Who woke up at 5.40am to meet me early so we could go back to IJ for CNY mass. Although we barely had enough hours of sleep. She's the only one that was so ON to follow me back to visit Ms Teo. She's the best. Ms Teo's the best toooooooo. She's my favourite teacher back at IJ. I wouldn't be who I am today without her and I'm always grateful for her presence in my life. Anyway it was like fated to meet Jo Teo, was walking around in the canteen and then about to leave when I heard a familiar voice call out to me CLARISSA TANG it said. Then ooooops, hahahah comical. Anyway it was really really really surprising that Ms Lim Yi Wen also remembers my name then when I was like sarah look! Ms Lim, then she always said out loud SARAH HO! AMAZEBALLS. IJ teachers really make it a point to remember their students. I mean those who regularly come back to visit lah. Sarah was like trying to hide from ms champion but she came over and said hi to us anyway.
After that, we left to meet QQ to get stuff for her to move into her residential college 4 at nus. My naggy mother mode turned on again. Ask her to get this and get that (sometimes i really wonder if the roles are reversed because I'm influenced from my own mother). My mother nags at me, my reaction is like QQ's, and hence I nag at QQ. Oh well, her room is pretty small but at least she can do laundry on the same floor! And also, her bed is so comfy! We spent about 45mins setting up her room. Cleaning the floor the bed, and the surroundings. For a neat freak and clean freak like me, its really important to get the whole place to be clean before you start calling it your own. Her room is on the 14th floor and it faces SP, so it has kinda a fantastic view. AND ITS NEAR THE LIFT AND THE STAIRCASE (for one thing that we know, she won't be burnt if she exits quickly in the event of a fire! -touchwood). Lunch was on her ( that was the catch), sarah also included. Heeeheeehee. Rain was super heavy but we made it back to NUH to kent ridge and finally home. I was super shagged as I roasted potatoes for dinner.
Dinner: Potluck at Kelly's! (with da cambodia trip mates!)
Chicken & Potatoes by theresa and I, ernest made pasta, calvin made 3 different types of cheesecake, kelly supplied the booooooze and the yusheng. First yusheng of 2013! weichin & andy sponsored dominos pizzzzza. These group of friends are well bonded over what we went through during the cambodia trip last year. Of total backgrounds and personalities and even ages but it's just cool shit that we all have common topics and can click! Though sometimes there are like diploma related topics that I just don't get but it's hilarious just listening. And WOW it's almost a year since our cambodia trip. I remember how cliquey we were during the "bonding" sessions and the various events that we had prior to the trip. It was really just diploma by diploma, not much mixture. Now what do we have, nhw-mls-fst. Its really just amazing.
#highlights: woke up at 6.15am today, went back to ij, free lunch, potluck dinner, 1styushengof2013,reuniondinner,eve of eve of cny.

For all the above, I'm grateful for the presence of such amazing friends that have journeyed with me through the dragon year/past years. One of the reasons why I just dislike the fact that the 19th Feb is really approaching soon and I'm going to have to leave this current singaporean life behind and start studying again in Adelaide.

Time to spend the 9th,10th,11th reunion-ing with my tang, hoon, foong clan.

I hope you all have a an exciting snake year ahead, the dragon year has been really fun, exciting and truly memorable! Make new memories, start new beginnings, huat ah, tiantianmimi, xueyejingbu, bubugaosheng, nianianyouyu, changmingbaisui. Just keep it going!

1 month to school
Monday, February 04, 2013 @ 11:30 pm
4th February ALREADY.
In 1 month, I'll be in Adelaide having my first taste of uni life!
In exactly 1 month from today since classes start on the 4th March.
Study study study.
Omgooooooosh.

Is it so difficult to get people to go back to IJ for CNY mass with me.
Why what's with the " I can't wake up, I don't want. I don't think I can make it." Notice everything starts with an I in front? When have we become so self centered? I mean in today's society, it is inevitable that there are many people that only think about themselves and also because of the society that we live in. We always strive for the best for ourselves. But sometimes it wouldn't hurt to take a step back and have a look at life back in the past. I mean friday is a really good day to wind down just before the start of the chinese new year this year.
If it means waking up early to go back for mass, to soak into the IJ atmosphere before I leave for my next step in life, it's like a refresher, and perhaps it also gives me strength to begin my journey as a uni student. Hahahha right now I can't find the strength to go back alone (don't ask me why).

I mean sacrificing a few hours of sleep for this is nothing. Can go back and bai nian to the teachers. Since you can sacrifice a few extra hours of sleep to rush a uni essay. Why not wake up slightly earlier to go back for IJ mass then if you really can't take it. Go back home and sleep. Hahhaha why does this post feel like its directly to mainly one person? I don't know?
But its quite general.
Everyone's main reason is like can't wake up. So there. I'm done with this post.
2 weekends left
Sunday, February 03, 2013 @ 10:22 pm
What is this.
2 weekends left in Singapore.
So much that I have yet to accomplish.
I think I'm miss my silly friends & my family.
Then I'll be whisked off to Adelaide where I will have to control my internet usage.
A senior told me, over there the speed is amazingly faster than Singapore, but the only downside of it? The usage is controlled over there and apparently you wanna use more? Then pay more. Which is ridiculously crazy. No more data for whatsapp, having to camp in library for wifi instead. I'll be like Theresa in Singapore, but when I'm in Australia. Get it?

Hahhaha I'm going to get as much internet via cable then. Pay about $40 for 30gb of internet, please my friends, make it worth it. Endless skyping and downloading of HIMYM and all that :)
So tomorrow is Monday, final week before CNY.
No new clothing anyway....

Grandad did some spring cleaning on his side, and brought over a whole lot of mom's travel stuff and old granny stuff. I found and learnt something new today. They're called Ektachrome slides, which in the past, photographers used it to project the images they had taken. Then it was like made into a film, I mean it could be made into a film like that lahh...

found Ms Chong's encouragement bookmark to us during our olevel days. Gonna pack these 2 along for motivation.

Any one wants to go back for cny mass? :(((

Officially done with Spring Cleaning!
Friday, February 01, 2013 @ 11:36 am
Just woke up a little earlier this morning to finish cleaning the remaining 1/3 of my study room (mainly the table). Its totally spick and span right now! So nice the feeling of coming to a clean table void of hairs (yes I realise I'm really anal about having hair on everything, even though its my own hair).
Well, I secretly have 1 more drawer to clear, but WHO IS GONNA KNOW THAT? Except the fact that when i open up that drawer I would go. GAHHH the mess. Other than that. The cupboards above me and the shelves around me are really clean.

I even cleaned my own side of the window grille. My sister can't be bothered about hers. Last year I remember not doing any form of spring cleaning at all. Because of the crazy fyp rush and all that. So I just did 2 years worth of cleaning now. The cleaning water and rag were changed so frequently, and the water was so black. The dust is seriously scary! I packed all things dearest to me, away from the table/window and placed them in my cupboards so they won't be subjected to 3 years' worth of dust.

1st Feb already, meaning only 18 nights left in my bed, smelling my pillow and my blankie, (I'm being whiny now).

Gotta get ready to leave the house! Tonight 1st round of reunion dinner, with my sp clique and 9.45pm Ah Boyz To Men Part 2!

Pre dinner? I think we may just go and try Prive cafe's tea, since from 3pm-6pm, their having a 50% tea special off their cakes! Totally excited. But don't know what to wear now. Hahahhaha.

Talk later. I charged my Samsung digi cam, cause its easier to carry around! Lazy to go and take the canon charger too! This samsung, just need to charge using phone charger! :):):)
