Everyone has been really worried about the recent outbreak of Swine Flu and hopefully it doesn't hit Singapore. However, it seems to me that people just take these things lightly. Especially at times like now, personal hygiene is so very important.

Like the stuff like covering your mouth when you sneeze and cough. Or using a piece of tissue so that your germs don't spread to everyone else. Today on the train ride home, OMG so many people just coughed with their mouths open, a few SNEEZED with the big AHHHH CHOOOOOOOO without covering as well. I can't even imagine how much germs just got into the air, with their added contribution. Then when the epidemic actually hits Singapore, everyone says I'm so scared I'm so scared.

However we kinda take these things for granted that we won't be affected, and when it actually happens, we regret why we didn't insist on taking the necessary precautions to prevent ourselves from getting sick. It was the same, during the 2003 SARS incident, everyone started being really clean and hygienic and the moment it was over, you can just see like no one really cares about cleanliness and stuff. Oh well, Swine is a really more serious thing than Bird Flu.

In fact its the combination of the pig, bird and human flu I heard. Can't be contained says the newspapers, and like it spreads from human to human, unlike the avian flu, only from bird to human. Father just borrowed $20 to buy masks, mother just came back with 3 bottles of hand sanitizer.

Everyone is getting ready for this world wide pandemic. So strap up and get ready to fight this terrible flu! Cleanliness and personal hygiene can't be compromised!

Today is already Monday. Time indeed passes really fast. I was so looking forward to the Star Awards like last month, March and then its just over in a blink of the eye.
I really thought that the Best Supporting Actress should have gone to Lin MeiJiao, the lady who acted as the evil mother in law aka step mother, and yet maybe her acting was too evil until no one wanted to vote for her!

F1 also at the same time, in Bahrain or something. Button won YET AGAIN, then Vettel Second and Trulli 3rd. Its getting like so easy to predict the winners now. So boring, I want twists and turns and nice surprises in between the race. I mean, the season won't be so exciting if you know that this particular driver will win the races and all. There really isn't no point watching. I watch it cause it gets exciting, right now, it isn't anymore. I still love the sound of the cars going varrrroooom though!

Today, had to wake up at 6am for an 8 o'clock nutrtion lesson. Because Ms Toh couldn't make it for today's 2 hour lecuture, she made it up seperately, so tomorrow also have to wake up early too! Thus, in between, had like a seriously long break of like 4 hours long. Math ended like 10 mins early and then we headed down to the Food Court 2 to have lunch around 12 plus. After that, headed off to the cafe in the library where we could like talk and play games and also don't have to worry about being silent and stuff.

Decided to play Risk, and then it was really a oompletely new game to me. As the name suggests it was all about risk taking and all that. Pei Yun, Cedric, Theresa and I played it. It was super fun, taking over continents and all that. I mean, it was all about strategies and like forming alliances so that we won't attack each other. It got to a point where by, we were quite content with the areas we "owned" and just gave up on the game!

My split lips are terrible, it has been almost a week already, and its still not recovering and its not like I don't drink water. In fact I drink lots and lots of water. Somemore it just split like that, very pain and ugly luh.
Rahh! Got homework to do now.

The first weeks of lessons in a new environment has officially passed. I think it was quite fun, because we got to move around the school for different lessons instead of staying put in one lesson.

Psychology lesson was rather interesting, except that the lecturer was really more of a talking textbook, rambling on and on. I was almost going to fall asleep. Oh well, got my Introductory to psychology textbook which was like super duper thick and heavy!

AP Chem is getting on my nerves, what mole concept, atoms, elements, molecules, molar mass and all that. Its all so foreign to me. Classmates have been nice, and helpful in terms of chem! Thanks for offering help.

Nutrition and FFSC Practical briefing yesterday in respective labs. Got my labcoat, its super big and comfortable and i like it. Its like a huge raincoat on me, and it says Singapore Polytechnic on the top left! Apparently for FFSC, we are going to learn how to make sausages! Now isn't that interesting? I'm so looking forward to that practical. And a factory visit! Though we haven't decided as a class where to go. F&N sounds intersting. Nestle too.
Slack Day
Tuesday, April 21, 2009 @ 1:06 pm
Currently in school library now, waiting for lessons to begin. I cancelled physio today because of this practical briefing for the lab lor. Then cannot meet up with qiqing and sheena for free cones day.

So sorry about that, we'll meet up real soon. Met with shermaine for lunch though, discovered that the library is actually quite close to foodcourt 1! Well, we have to meet up and chat and talk. Its part of life! I watched her eat her char siew rice, because i ate already.

Today, the only serious lecture we had was like the one first thing in the morning, the ffsc lecture, the rest was like. Urm, no action. Math lecture was cancelled, IHW was like only 1/2 hour long, and then my classmates and I are seriously so bored. I'm counting, we have like what, 4 hours of free time till 2.30pm.

Watched 17 again. Zac Efron is like oh so cute! Hahaha. The movie was hilarious!
It was quite cool, because I didn't watch this movie with friends,I watched it with my parents and sister.

Well, its quite cool, cause at least they managed to understand the teenage craze thing, and go along with it. Given another chance, would love to watch 17 again, AGAIN.

Rahh! Monday, starting school. Brain has been rusty for ages, hope I adapt fast! I'm so excited to get to know my classmates!
SP Flagday, SP FO Party

16 April 2009

Started off at around 7.30am yesterday. Arranged to meet Fidah and Jessica at 7.30am. For Fidah, it was special case, arrange for her to arrive by 7.15 so latest, she'll be there at 7.30am.

I left the house at 7am, and arrived so early, arrived around 7.20am, I thought I was going to wait for like a long time! Luckily Fidah arrived on that time too! Same train I reckon! So happy! She was on time! This time, Jessica was late, luckily she said go start first. Or less the good spot would have been taken up.

Stood outside the DG station, the way towards Park Mall, and started Donations, well it was a good experience! Collected till tin was more than half full and then decided to go window shopping and stop, because really tired already! Fidah did the most shopping la. Bought jeans, socks and blouses! One day should get her to treat me la, since she got her pay already! Also had dessert at Secret Recipe and then we sat down and chat and almost forgot about the time to go back to SP.

We were the last 3 that came back for our class la. Everyone was already counting money and stuff. You Di collected a hundred dollars over la! Great Job! Everyone did a good job, in collecting money for the needy!

Headed downstairs to meet the Spardies for FO Party, and Jennifer handed me chocolate and a nice peg! Thanks Jennifer!
Party food was fantastic! It was CJS Catering, that caterer rocks! Always missed the food catered by CJS, everytime stay back during IJ days. What more, the reason why I decided to go for the party was mainly because of the food. It was buffet style, so of course I wouldn't miss it. Food Rocks!

Took pictures and then, headed towards the dance floor. Wel, I must say the entertainment was quite okay. I don't really know how to appreciate the hard rock and punk music. So I just sat there and just clap and clap. Didn't get high at all la. Oh well, left early and came home!

School starting on monday, its a new beginning!
Fast & Furious 4
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 @ 10:15 pm
Met with Sarah today, watched the 12pm Show at Bishan GV. Oh I LOVE THE CARS featured in the movie, Fast and Furious 4 was simply so exciting! The sounds of the cars screeching and racing was so addictive! I just love the sound.

Tried the spicy rice cake, at the korean shop,it was so spicy! I think, it would have been nicer if it was saltier and not so sour!
CLS Outing at Sentosa
Saturday, April 11, 2009 @ 10:01 pm
Today was cls outing at Sentosa. A day of fun and sun and the beach! Unfortunately, couldn't go anywhere near water today :( sad. Nevertheless, had fun watching people have fun!

It started with a seriously hot and sunny morning, this morning and I woke up at like 8.30am because i was all so excited. I haven't been to sentosa in ages! It has really changed ALOT! I wish I could go back there some other day, to take the day as it goes and view the latest attractions there.

The sun was really hot. Left house at like 1015 because i didn't think it would take 45 mins to get there. Arranged to meet the other spardies at harbourfront station. When I arrived, it was such a coincidence that I knocked into Shu Ying once again! ( the previous time was at admiratly station, for sparda outing at papa's house! ) It was such a coincidence, that we were practically on the same train once again! Luckily we met, or else I really wouldn't know what to do. Met Jennifer, Jia Hao and Mardiana at Giant Hypermart with papa nash and a few other GLs and GMs, and headed to the steps outside Breadtalk to wait for the others.

Shortly after, Peggy, Pei Yun , Zi Yuan and Darren arrived, supposed to wait for mama anita, but then we got distracted, because had to draw money to fund the day's activities. Went up to the meeting place, supposedly the Sky Park. Then gathered there, in a circle, to pay for the card to sentosa. Jennifer took out her lovely home made treat of chocolates, I loved them! Thanks Jennifer! They were awesome!

No time to buy food to bring to Sentosa, so ended up eating there instead. Took the Sentosa Express with the tap tap card, like ez link card to sentosa and had to squeeze. Like what isn't new when you go out in such a big group huh?Almost got off at the wrong stop, and luckily we were called back in, or else, surely gotta walk all the way there. Arrived at Palawan beach where everyone started having fun. It was really damn hot. I wasn't in a mood for a tan, took a stroll by the beach with Jennifer, and crossed that bridge to the southern part of the asian continent. By that time, the sun was at its highest, and we were bare footed and walked across that super duper long beach. Damn hot la, our feet were like burning like shit. Reached the other side, had to literally sit on the rock and soak our feet into the nice cool water! Never want to leave there, but what to do? Had to get back right.

The other spardies were having a great time in the waters. Wish i could too! But couldn't la today, bad timing, bad timing! The cool waters were really inviting, plus the darn hot weather. But the weather kinda changed without warnings la. When Jennifer and I made a second trip to the Tower, it was like lightning and then got the whistle whistle thingy, to call people out of the waters. Then we rushed back, walked briskly back to the beach, and everyone was like clearing out. The skies were super dark and the other spardies were like cleaning up and washing up. We grabbed whatever bags we could hold as instructed by the fierce fierce GM that one, that keep scolding us one. Then luckily we grabbed like the bags, took out my super duper cool umbrella and carried the bags, hoping to keep them from getting wet.

Then Pei Yun's cute goodies bag starting falling apart, hopefully no electronic stuffs in the bags that I was holding on to got spoilt. I did try my best to keep them dry! I got wet instead. So in the end, I also had to change clothes. At the bus bay there, nash and the other GLs were trying their best to keep the spirit level high, despite the really heavy rain! Had lots of cheering and all that. When the rain stopped, walked all the way back to Palawan beach to change and clean up. WAHH, that was when I realized that I got like lots of bites from the stupid sand flies la. My leg has like lots of red spots, like 10cents, 50 cents like that, and then one big black bruise on my arm.

Took the tram back to the Beach station and then the Sentosa Express back to vivo. Da Paoed dinner from Banquet, according to Mardiana, the Char Kway Teow was the best there. It was actually quite worth it, one really big container and filled to the brim for like 4 bucks. The others had like fast food which probably cost more! I couldn't even finish my char kway teow, and mama was so kind enough to finish it for me. While sitting outside Candy Empire waiting for those with a sweet tooth to get their chocs. Listened to the songs from BOF, Mardiana is an avid fan alright! The songs are super nice, send them to me eh Mardiana!

Anyway, we da paoed and then went to the roof to eat and then we joined like a big group of TP people there, and then people started cheering like mad, and it was super noisy and TP people super competitive. Couldn't do much cause our SP group quite small. NP was supposedly there as well. Saw Ashleigh! She said they were at sentosa today too!

Everyone was tired, one group leaving, meant everyone. Jennifer stayed on to leave with mama, on the purple line. The rest of us, just left together. The others stopped at Outram, I continued the journey with Shu Ying to DG station and switched back to the red line. To get home. WOW. Today was an incredible day. When I do get the pictures. I will post them.

School starting on monday, today is like the last day to enjoy life. Till we get back to school. AHHHHH!

I LOVE MY SPARDA FAMILY!

Great Picture, while waiting for the rain to stop

In the train, on the way back home

Spardies forever

Day with Angela
Wednesday, April 08, 2009 @ 8:29 pm
Spent the day with Angela today, because its going to be her 17th birthday tomorrow! But then she's busy today, so today I met her first. Much less, it was a really boring day, didn't go out much. because all the great movies come out tomorrow instead.

Angela woke me up with her phone call at 9.37am this morning. I was having a really sweet dream and suddenly I heard my ring tone and then I can't remember what I was dreaming about. She said she was like on her way to my place. GOSH, I thought she was already in the lift at my block.

I jumped out of bed and rushed to the toilet. Then I just realized what she meant was that she was just leaving her place. After showering and all, made it back to bed and had another shut eye for about 10 minutes before she officially arrived.

Headed down to macs to settle my pay, ARGH, just don't want to talk about it. I've been waiting so long for my pay, and I'm still not getting the right amount. had BK for lunch and got Audrey PASTAMANIA! Carbonara okay! Its her favourite, glad she enjoyed it.

Borrowed Vanessa's ping pong table and played table tennis for like 2 hours! Gosh and the pp ball kept hiding and getting hit between the plant pots and we spent half the time trying to retrieve the balls.Well, I'm glad I managed to sweat it out for a bit! Had fun today!
Qing Ming in Malaysia, Malaysia GP 2009
Sunday, April 05, 2009 @ 8:54 pm
Woke up at 5am this morning to make sure that we would leave the house by 6am to go to JB for the Qing Ming. In Malaysia, the Qing Ming affair, is probably something like CNY, where relatvies and family members all gather to go to the tombs of their ancestors. It is quite commendable, everyone, young or old would gather together regardless of other appointments just to go back to the tombstones and visit their ancestors.

Today, we went back to JB for the first time, for Qing Ming. I'm actually quite surprised that the graves there are so colourful and nice. It is really well taken care of with like different sorts of customization made to each grave. Some choose to plant papaya trees next to the graves for mere identification purposes. While others, just locate the grave with a generic landmark like near the BIG TREE. It is situated on a gentle hill, with "residents" almost filling up every level.

Uncle Mun Woh, said that he went to the grave earlier last week, to repaint the lions "guarding" the tombstone. So much so, even the eyes were repainted! It goes to show, how so important this festival of Qing Ming is. Fire Crackers were used before and after and seriously. This was the first time in my life, that I've been so close to fire crackers, and it was really loud. This was indeed a refreshing experience in Malaysia!

After visiting the tomb, the entire family gathered for lunch at the near by coffeeshop for good Bak Kut Teh, Fresh fish, and lots of nutritious food. Fast and fabulous! Then headed back to Aunty Sao's place to chit chat.

Managed to get back home in time to watch the F1 on cable. It was an exciting race alright! I mean, Rosberg had terrific skills! That led him to become the leading men, in like the first few laps and all that. Then again there was like sudden rain. Then I just realized how comical Mark Webber was. Supposedly he was like the "union" of all F1 drivers. With 24 laps to go, there was sudden heavy rain, and then the red flag was waved cause many drivers and their cars kinda skidded. Hamilton, Buemi, Fischella and a few others. Ah! I know Kubica's car caught fire in the early laps of the race. Plus, Kimi said that his tyres were completely destroyed. It was already like 6 plus, and then they wanted to restart the race around 6.45pm, but it was just too heavy to do so.

So the final positions and points, were given according to how they stopped. In order, Button,Heidfield ( who only had like 1 stop! Compared to the others with an average of 3 stops! Fantastic isn't he?), and I think 3rd, Timo Glock.

Hamilton wasn't too bad himself! Moved up from 12th to 6th! Thats great! Massa too, though I'm not a fond fan of his! I think this Malaysian GP is like the most exciting one ever! I have never witnessed a race, being stopped in the middle, and never being able to continue as well!
Macs Lunch
Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 2:24 pm
I told myself never to eat Macs again, after working there for the past months. Yet, for lunch. I just ordered a Chicken Munchies Bundle Set. Just too lazy to get up on my feet and cook lunch, morever, I had to cook for 2! If it was just myself, I'll just skip lunch, however, Audrey has to eat. So just ordered in Macs la.

Actually Chicken Munchies not too bad, its fastfood and clearly, visibly unhealthy. Oh well, who actually cares, its fast and I don't have to clean up much after eating.
CLS FO Camp
Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 10:16 pm
I'm back from 3 Days 2 Nights,CLS FO Camp, and we're officially Year 1 students! I loved camp, it was fantastic! Had great group memebers and papa nash and mama anita.

Made many new friends, SPARDA rocks, and we are one big happy family. Pei Yun and I will be future classmates! I'll always remember camp, actually right now as I'm editing this post, I'm just missing camp so much! I mean we all spent like 3 whole days together with all the loud consistent cheering and suddenly being stuck at home, with no one and in complete silence is just the complete opposite.

I laughed so much during camp, thanks to team mates like Choon Meng, Joel, Mardiana, Jia Hao, Pei Yun,Shu Ying, Felicia, Yun Ting, Nasir, Linus, Peggy, Darren, Zi Yuan and Jennifer! We really had a fantastic time together. Will never forget those really happy times!

Night walk was really surprisingly, exciting! My partner was Darren, I was so scared before that, and he could just be so cool, sitting there and joining the group that listened to ghost stories! My number was like 32, and we started off at around 4am in the morning or so. By then, we weren't really required to go in small groups of 2, instead 4. It was really exciting, I mean when it started, I was anticipating the next step and when we were going to be scared.
Slept at 5.30am and woke up at 8am, thats the shortest time for my sleep. Really tired last night, slept at 11pm, which is really early. :)

Heres a group photo for memories.
